A lifelong Maine resident, Lou began fishing at an early age with his Grandfather on the Kennebec River in the late 80’s - early 90’s, right when the Striped Bass population was rebounding. Lou has had his Maine Guide’s License with a Tidewater Classification for eight plus years. Lou also has a USCG Masters license. He loves everything guiding; the prep work that goes into a season, and the tinkering that takes place throughout the season has always kept him going. Lou also loves teaching people how to fish. His goal for clients is for them to be able to go out their own when they are done and catch fish by themselves. Right now, Lou runs a 16 foot Maritime Skiff, which fits two anglers perfectly, and is set up for fly fishing, meaning there are no snag opportunities. The boat is wide and stable and still able to get into skinny water, yet is heavy enough to fish the surf. Lou operates from Yarmouth, Maine to Saco Maine and targets striped bass and bluefish when available, with fly and light tackle.
