Over 185 anglers from all over New England turned out at The Greatest Bar in Boston, MA last week for the 2017 Fly Fishing Film Tour, hosted by Cheeky and Why Knot Fishing. The evening marked the second straight year Cheeky and Why Knot have co-hosted the event, and the 6th that Cheeky has helped bring the tour to Beantown.
The Dales Pale Ale started flowing early at The Greatest Bar thanks to Oskar Blues Brewery, and good times soon followed. Per tradition with F3T, the intermission of the event was marked with an epic raffle, where dozens of lucky attendees were chosen at random to go home with awesome fly fishing prizes. Up for grabs this year was a limited edition all-black Limitless 425, 2 pairs of Costa Sunglasses, a FishPond bag, a rambler/tumbler set from Yeti, about a dozen hats from RepYourWater, and much, much more.
A limited edition all-black Limitless 425 was one of the many fly fishing prizes up for grabs this year.
As we've come to expect with the F3T, all the films were exceptional. This year, however, one video stood out from the rest. "Running the Coast" by Howard Films stole the show. The film, which took 5 years to complete, documents the story of the incredible striped bass migration from the Chesapeake Bay to the coast of Maine. It tells the story of the resilient fish, and the anglers crazy enough to chase them. Check out the official trailer for "Running the Coast" right here on The Blitz.
Cheeky would like to thank everyone who came out and made the 2017 Boston Fly Fishing Film Tour the best one yet. We look forward to seeing you there next year!
