For this week's Topwater Tuesday, we head to Western Alaska to watch rainbow trout devour topwater rodents.
Skating and stripping mice flies along a river bank is one of the most exciting experiences in trout fishing. The flies are big, ugly and provoke some absolutely vicious topwater strikes. For this video, the folks at Fly Out Media brought their mice flies to the remote regions of the Aniak River, Alaska for hungry rainbow trout. The video is about 4 minutes long and features some outstanding topwater trout action.
Just how aggressive are the trout in the Aniak? Check out the hang time the fish gets at 1:50.
