Cheeky Proud To Sponsor 72nd Annual Martha's Vineyard Derby

Cheeky is proud to sponsor the 2017 Martha's Vineyard Derby. Now in its 72nd year, the annual month-long fishing tournament is one of the most anticipated events on the calendar. Each year, hundreds of anglers from all over the country flock to the beautiful Massachusetts island in search of striped bass, bluefish, false albacore, and bonito, all while vying for prizes that include a new car, boat, reels, rods, and much more. 

The 2017 tournament kicked off on September 10 and runs through October 14. The excitement culminates on Sunday, October 15 when the top anglers in each fish category gather on stage, randomly draw keys to a new boat and car, and one by one check to see if their key opens the door. It's a heart-pounding moment that is an absolute must-see event.

This year, the boat grand prize is a Cape Codder 19 with Tohatsu Outboard and Trailer, compliments of Cape Codder Boats. It goes without saying, but this baby is sweet. 

The prizes don't stop there however, this year Cheeky is giving away the following items:

• 1 x All Black Limited Edition Limitless 475 to a random participant in the "Shore Fly Rodders" category
• 1 x All Black Limited Edition Limitless 475 to a random participant in the "Boat Fly Rodders" category
• 1 x All Black Limited Edition Limitless 475 for the winner of the photo release category
• 8 x Wingo Striped Bass Wading Belts for each of the catch and release bags
