Cheeky Sighter 425 Fly Reel

Line Weight: 8-9

Targeted Species: Carp, Pike, Striped Bass, Muskie, Salmon, Steelhead, Redfish.

New Sighter Reels set the bar for versatility and value! How can one reel do so much? With a full cage frame design, the new Sighter is light enough for your standard weight rods, but is also at home with thin-line set ups and running lines found in popular Euro-nymph and switch/spey line configurations. With Cheeky's award-winning Rev Carbon Drag, this reel punches far above its weight class in the drag department. Plus, you can't find this kind of value and versatility for under $200 anywhere else. We are proud to add the all-new Sighter Fly Reels to the Cheeky lineup.

The New Sighter 425 is designed for pursing those beasts, brutes and behemoths that angling dreams are made of. The 4 and 1/4 inch diameter is plenty of room for larger line weights and can accommodate spey lines. At 7.9 ounces, the New Sighter, in rich cobalt and black, is your reliable reel for chasing true river monsters.

Nice reel, l even had 3 of my friends order one.

We salmon fish in up state New York, and love the way the reel handled the 20 -28 lbs fish. Nice smooth drag.

Didn't know what I was missing out!

For starters, I am fairly new to fly fishing. I was putting a new 8wt setup together and after hours of research, I've decided to go with the Sighter 425 to pair with my Moonlit rod despite it being slightly heavier than the competition. Prior to this, the only experience I've had is with my Echo Traverse combo, which comes with the Ion reel. It works fine and I have absolutely no complaints.

When I received the Sighter, the difference was immediate. I had no idea what I was missing out on. Upon inspection, there are some "imperfections" on the finish of the spools as it is aluminum diecast but that is expected and why the Sighter cost less than the other lineup. Don't let that sway you away from this reel. This thing is built like a tank and is sooooooooooo buttery smooth. I was able to hook up on a 5lb bass and the drag handled beautifully. With the extra spool, changing my setup is a breeze. I highly recommend the Sighter to anyone. You guy's have got a customer for life!

I bought my first Cheeky reel last year, the Tyro 300, I like it’s performance & reliable drag when needed to land fish efficiently. The 425 Sighter model will have two different setups with the spare spool to meet the demands of Steelhead fishing
