Great Spey Reel

I have been using this on my 11' 3wt Trout Spey from Echo rods. This reel holds plenty of line, keeps my thin mono shooting/running line in check and balances the rod quite well. This reel is a little bit heavier than other reels in this size but that is great for my trout spey rod. I also really enjoy that although it has a full cage frame, the spool is still exposed and can be palmed in order for me to control my own drag. I have used the drag system as well on the reel for steelhead and larger rainbows and it is quite good, have only noticed startup inertia when it was real cold and it is smooth other than that. Great reel at a good price point!
